Course Registration

  • How do I register for the course?
    Visit the training homepage (www.ncsacw.samhsa.gov/training) and click on the blue “Sign Up Now” button. Complete the tutorial registration form and click “Submit.”
  • Are you having trouble registering?
    You should have received an email to verify your registration. If you have registered and you’re having trouble logging in to the tutorials, please check the email address you used to complete your registration. Click on the link provided in the email you received to verify your registration. If the link does not work, copy and paste the link into your browser. If you did not receive the verification email in your main Inbox, please check your spam and/or junk mail folders. If you?re still having trouble, please contact us at 714-505-3525.

Course Information

  • How long will this course take to complete, and do I have to complete the course in one sitting?
    Each of the three tutorials is estimated to take four and a half hours to complete. The tutorials do not need to be completed in one sitting. You may log back into your account using your Access Key, and begin where you last left off on the tutorial.
  • Can I receive Continuing Education Units by taking this course?
    Yes, Tutorials 1 and 2 offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Upon completion of the tutorial and Knowledge Assessment, you can obtain a Certificate of Completion. You may submit this certificate to the appropriate board to receive your CEUs.
    • Tutorial 1: Understanding Child Welfare and the Dependency Court: A Guide for Substance Abuse Treatment Professionals – This course is approved by the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) to provide 4.5 CEUs.
    • Tutorial 2: Understanding Substance Use Disorders, Treatment and Family Recovery: A Guide for Child Welfare Professionals – This course is approved by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) to provide 4.5 CEUs.
    • Tutorial 3: Understanding Substance Use Disorders, Treatment, and Family Recovery: A Guide for Legal Professionals – If you are interested in receiving Continuing Legal Education (CLE) for this course, you must submit your certificate and the training materials to your own State Bar.
  • How can I access my Certificate of Completion?
    After completing all of the training modules, you will be directed to complete a Knowledge Assessment. Upon completion of this assessment you can obtain a Certificate of Completion (in PDF format), on which you may fill in your name and then save to your computer or print for your records.
