The National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare (NCSACW) is providing in-depth technical assistance to strengthen the capacity of states and local jurisdictions to improve the safety, health, and well-being of substance exposed infants, and the recovery of pregnant and parenting women and their families. The 18-month initiative, funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) supports six state efforts to strengthen collaboration and linkages across child welfare, addiction treatment, medical providers, early child care and education systems.   The following states applied for and were selected to participate in this initiative:
